Wafa Azgugu, a clinical coordinator II at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS), embarked on her journey in the medical field after graduating from Omar Al Mukhtar University in 2009. Her initial foray into the profession saw her as an internal medicine physician at Al Wahda Hospital, where she adeptly treated and managed a diverse range of patient symptoms and diseases, with a specific focus on providing care to cardiac ICU patients. In addition to her clinical roles, Wafa served as a professor assistant in a histopathology lab at the Faculty of Medical Technology. Here, she played a pivotal role in guiding students through the intricacies of creating slides from animal tissue biopsies. Recognizing her dedication and talent, Wafa earned a scholarship to pursue a master's degree, which she successfully achieved from the University of Northern Colorado in Biomedical Sciences in 2017.Post-graduation, Wafa extended her expertise as an adjunct faculty member at the same university before deciding to diversify her skill set. Seeking to enhance her customer service proficiency, she ventured into the realm of insurance and pharmacy experiences at Walmart Pharmacy. Driven by a passion for research, Wafa transitioned to the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where she assumed the role of a senior research assistant in the Neurology Department. Her focus on studies involving Multiple Sclerosis (M.S) patients not only deepened her understanding of the field but also intensified her commitment to conducting and managing impactful research. Eager to further advance both personally and professionally, Wafa Azgugu aspires to continue honing her research skills and working knowledge, contributing meaningfully to the ever-evolving landscape of medical research.
